REVISTA LUSO-HISPANICA

Revista luso-hispanica

About the Journal

The American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP) is pleased to announce the launch of a new student publication: Revista Luso-Hispánica (RLH).

Filling the gap between the AATSP’s two other student publications - Albricias, for high school students, and the Spanish and Portuguese Review (SPR), for graduate students – RLH’s mission is to promote and recognize scholarship and artistic expression by undergraduate students of Spanish and Portuguese. Accordingly, the journal’s scope of publication includes academic papers, interviews, and book reviews related to the study or teaching of Hispanic and Luso-Brazilian languages and cultures, as well as creative works of writing, such as poems, short stories, and other works of fiction.

The inaugural issue of this journal was unveiled at the 106th AATSP national conference, which was held in Portland, OR from June 29 to July 2, 2024.

We invite undergraduate students enrolled in community colleges and universities, as well as high school students in AP courses, to submit their work for publication in the RLH. We are currently accepting submissions for the 2025 edition of the RLH. Submission details are below.

Requirements:

Revista Luso-Hispánica accepts submissions in Spanish, Portuguese, Spanglish, Portuñol, and English, written by a second or heritage language speaker. Submissions are accepted from undergraduate students enrolled in community colleges and universities as well as high school students in AP courses. Students can submit their undergraduate work up to one year after graduation. There is a limit of one submission per author. All submissions must be sponsored by a professor/instructor/lecturer/teacher with an active AATSP membership, who must be willing to help the student edit their work and make sure the manuscript is publishable. All published work will appear with short bios of the student and the sponsoring faculty member.
