Since 1917, the AATSP has supported teachers and students of Spanish and Portuguese across the United States and beyond. From honor societies and national exams to scholarships, awards, journals, and an annual conference, our mission is to advance language teaching and learning.

As a nonprofit professional association, the AATSP does not rely on government funding.

Instead, we rely on educators, allies, and community members who believe in the future of Spanish and Portuguese teaching and learning.
Your contribution will help us fund this year's new initiatives, including the Sheri Spaine Long Professional Development Series, the Distinguished Teacher Certificate, and the Revista Luso-Hispánica, our new journal for undergraduate students. In keeping with the mission of the AATSP, these initiatives promote and support the study and teaching of the Spanish and Portuguese languages and their related literatures and cultures at all levels of education.
