Pilar Martínez-Quiroga
2019 AATSP Outstanding Scholarly Publication Award
The 2019 Outstanding Scholarly Publication Award went to Pilar Martínez-Quiroga, who holds the rank of Teaching Assistant Professor in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at the University of Illinois. Martínez-Quiroga’s article is titled “La detective Bruna Husky de Rosa Montero: Feminismo, distopía y conciencia cyborg” is freely available at the AATSP website. One of the editors stated that “This essay takes criticism of Montero’s work in new directions in its consideration of feminist theories of the body and technology. Its textual analysis is complete and convincing, and it is clearly written and transparent in its logic.
The essay deals with an understudied yet popular area of Montero’s literary production, which makes it of interest both to specialists and to those who are in search of new primary texts for classroom use.”
