September 2019 Hispania Now Available

The September issue of Hispania (102.3) is now available in print and online. NEW: Check out short form articles by high school teachers and for high school teachers! The issue includes an editorial update on the upcoming Portuguese Special Issue, two short-form articles, six research articles, and nineteen book/media reviews. The short-form articles offer tips on how to incorporate social justice and literary texts in courses. Research articles include language usage of bilingual k’iche’-Spanish speakers (Baird), community-engaged learning (Gasca Jiménez), and the role of La Malinche as a symbolic mother (Tate). The book/media review section includes reviews of Latinx Writing Los Angeles: Nonfiction Dispatches from a Decolonial Rebellion (edited by López-Calvo and Valle) (Camps) and Diccionario de anglicismos del español estadounidense (written by Moreno-Fernández) (Muñoz-Basols).
