CURRENT ISSUE
June 2018 (101.2)
With the June issue (101.2) of Hispania Dr. Sheri Spaine Long’s tenure as Editor-in-Chief comes to a close. In her last Editor’s Message, “The Long Goodbye,” Dr. Long narrates recent accomplishments and sets the stage
for continued future success of the journal. Hispania will miss her editorial acumen and creative direction. Our editorial team treasured collaborating with her on the journal and we welcome our new Editor-in-Chief,
Benjamin Fraser. In the June issue, John Maddox penned a guest article titled “Hispania: An Iberian Union for a New Millennium” in which he highlights future possibilities for the journal. The ten articles in the June issue
include studies on Celestina, Rosa Montero, Julio Cortázar, Spanish comics, Spanish realist cinema, intercultural contact in study abroad programs, world Portuguese, technology in the Spanish Heritage Learner classroom,
spelling errors for Spanish Heritage Learners, and L2 reading and listening comprehension. The Book/Media Review section, curated by Editor Domnita Dumitrescu, compiles a variety of noteworthy items, including a reviews of ¿Por qué? 101 Questions about Spanish by
Judy Hochberg (written by Elena Retzer) and (Des)Conexões entre Portugal e o Brasil: Séculos XIX e XX by Tânia Martuscelli (written by Robert Newcomb).
