Workshop 5: DEEPENING CULTURAL UNDERSTANDING THROUGH PROJECT-BASED LEARNING (9:00 – 11:50) Presenter: Peggy Malec, Valley Catholic Middle School, Beaverton, OR Primary audience: General Attendees at this workshop will examine sample units of study and design their own units or revise an existing unit to make it more accessible to all students. The projects created during the workshop will center on the target culture while fostering critical thinking and meaningful research resources developed.
