SHA AWARDS - GUIDELINES & INFORMATION
The Sociedad Hispánica de Amistad (SHA) provides awards for chapters and chapter sponsors that exemplify our mission of promoting language education and community.

Capitulo del Año (Pamela Wink Award)
The Chapter of the Year Award is given to the chapter that has completed the most exceptional projects in the three service categories of the SHA:
Service to School
Service to Community
Ambassadorship
Prizes:
First Place: $150 & Plaque
Second Place: $125 & Certificate
Third Place: $100 & Certificate
Actividad del Año
The Activity of the Year Award is given to the chapter that has completed the most significant service project in any one of the three service categories of the SHA:
Service to School
Service to Community
Ambassadorship
Prizes:
First Place: $100 & Plaque
Second Place: $75 & Certificate
Third Place: $50 & Certificate
Sponsor of the Year
The Sponsor of the Year award is awarded to an SHA sponsor who has provided exemplary service to the SHA during the year.
El Premio SHA/Klett World Languages de Liderazgo Global en Acción
This award celebrates the chapter or chapters that aim to foster student leadership as ambassadors of the language and culture studied and their services to the school and/or community. This award also recognizes the chapter that work to advance
the principle of cooperation in our society.
Winning chapters will be distinguished by:
Collaborative impact projects that benefit the school and community.
Initiatives that empower students to be ambassadors of languages studied.
Requisites:
Sponsors must be current AATSP members with chapters and enrolled students
Review the activities that your SHA Chapter has completed during the current school year.
Select areas to highlight that will show your chapter’s full range of participation in the SHA and its service mission.
Decide whether you want to apply for the Chapter of the Year Award or the Activity of the Year Award.
Submit documentation of the chapter service projects along with the completed application form.
Documentation may be submitted in the form of a PowerPoint presentation, an electronic scrapbook, a Word document, or other electronic format that demonstrates why the chapter should receive the award.
The documentation may include descriptions of the projects, photos of chapter projects, newspaper or newsletter articles, statements or letters from students, parents, administrators, or other faculty members.
All documentation must be submitted electronically.
Complete the appropriate form and submit it along with the other application materials.

DEADLINE: April 19, 2026. NOTIFICATION: Winners will be notified. CONFIRMATION OF RECEIPT: All application materials received will be confirmed. If you do not receive an email message confirming receipt of your application materials within 72 hours, please re-send.
