A broad cross-section of AATSP members contributed to this multi-year overhaul of the Spanish Standards. Look forward to updated content about the Spanish language and Spanish teaching in the United States in particular. Special attention is devoted to Heritage Learners of Spanish. Explore fresh Learning Scenarios! Here are just a few titles of the new scenarios:

What’s Trending in Digital Media?
La clonación: un dilema ético para nuestro futuro
Coffee: A Hispanic Cultural Value
A Quality Education for All

The revision was led by Dr. Christine Campbell, The Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center, Monterey, CA (Ret.). For a full listing of task force members, contributors, consultants, and reviewers, click here (PDF).

The American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages coordinates the Standards Collaborative, a group of 15+ languages/language associations, to make them available to the educators, school districts, departments, libraries, etc. The new edition can be ordered as an e-book or in print. The proceeds from the Standards Collaborative supports the ongoing revisions and expansion of languages.
