IX INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON BILINGUAL EDUCATION IN EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS

The University of Guadalajara and the Bilingual Teaching Association, organize the IX International Conference on Bilingual Education in Educational Centers – CIEB 2023 – to be held in Guadalajara, at the Faculty of Humanities and Educational Sciences of the University of Guadalajara on October 20th, 21st and 22nd, 2023.

Bilingual education: the teacher, engine of improvement

This conference aims to highlight the figure of teachers who, thanks to their hard work and continuous effort and despite frequent insufficient support, demonstrate their high professional level by offering their students the highest possible quality level. Emphasizing the importance of the teacher as a fundamental and necessary element for the improvement of bilingual education programs, the main objective is to promote a well-deserved recognition of their valuable work. Bilingual education programs are complex structures that revolve around a series of elements – administrations, schools, students, families – in order to achieve the main objective of providing students with the highest possible level of linguistic proficiency. In this context, there are many important factors such as program design, resources, training, etc., but the teacher is undoubtedly the axis of this system and the driving force behind everything that happens in it. It is therefore necessary to pay attention to their work, their functions, their performance, their training, and to ensure that they have at their disposal the help and support necessary to carry out their complex task in the most appropriate way possible.
