AATSP 102nd Annual Conference

The American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP) is the United States’ leading organization in serving educators to support the teaching and learning of Spanish and Portuguese (K-16+). We provide a forum for educators from the U.S. and abroad during our AATSP Annual Conference that includes over 300 events during 3 1/2 days of discussions, workshops, sessions, exhibits, speeches, excursions, and awards that reflect trends, interests, and the needs of language educators.

POSTPONEMENT OF THE AATSP ANNUAL CONFERENCE

On behalf of the AATSP Board of Directors, it is with deep regret that we notify our membership that we are currently in negotiations to postpone the 102nd Annual Conference to be held this summer in San Juan, Puerto Rico) July 9-12, 2020). At present, we are unable to share complete information. We appreciate your patience as we navigate a new process.

In the coming weeks, we will communicate details. For now, if you have reserved flights or lodging in San Juan for the July event, please cancel these arrangements.

By July 2020, we are hopeful that the current travel restrictions will be relaxed, and the virus will be closer to containment. However, because no one can guarantee an endpoint to the COVID-19 pandemic, we act our of an abundance of caution. Our first priority is your health and safety.

This summer, sadly we will miss the rich exchange of knowledge and interactions with our colleagues and friends that are the hallmark of the AATSP annual conference.

Respectfully,
Sheri Spaine Long
AATSP Executive Director
