AATSP Conference Attendees are receiving a special hotel rate that includes amenities. The AATSP single/double/triple/quadruple guest room rate is $149 per night and includes in-room Internet access (approximate value $15). Taxes and gratuities are not included in the hotel room rate.

Taxes and gratuities: 13% Government Taxes (Subject to change without notice according to government regulations).

  • Admission to all presentations including 30- and 75-minute sessions, e-Posters, panels and featured sessions
  • Admission to:
    1. Exhibit Hall with refreshments during breaks
    2. President's Welcome Reception
    3. Awards Banquet if selected during registration process (Student and Lifetime members must purchase a ticket to attend)
  • Workshops and excursions are not included in the conference registration fee but can be purchased for a nominal additional cost


To ensure an accurate meal count for the Awards Banquet, you are required to register according to your Awards Banquet entrée choice.

  • REGULAR MEMBERS AND NON-MEMBERS: The Awards Banquet is included in the conference registration fee. At time of registration, you will select your conference registration based on one of the following menu options:
    1. Regular Entrée - Spiced Chicken Breast with Lemon Scented Rice and Grilled Sea Salt Asparagus
    2. Vegetarian Entrée -  Ratatouille over Quinoa with Eggplant, Zucchini, Squash, Roasted Bell Pepper and Garlic Parsley Drizzle
    3. No Entrée - I will not be attending Banquet
  • STUDENT MEMBERS AND LIFE MEMBERS: Awards Banquet tickets for Student Members and Life Members are $75 each. You must purchase an Awards Banquet ticket during the registration process if you would like to attend the Awards Banquet.
  • ADDITIONAL/GUEST AWARDS BANQUET TICKET: During the registration process, AATSP conference attendees can purchase additional/guest Awards Banquet tickets for $75.



WORKSHOPS: $35 (half day) or $75 (full day)

  • In addition to the regular conference sessions that are included in your registration fee, the 2016 AATSP conference program offers optional half-day or full-day workshops. The selected workshops provide participants with an interactive and in-depth exploration of a specific topic related to the teaching of language, culture, or literature.
  • Workshops are special events and require conference registration and a separate fee to attend.
  • Participants may attend only those workshops for which they have paid and pre-registered.


All registration changes and refund requests must be made in writing no later than April 1, 2016 via e-mail (to or US Postal Service (900 Ladd Road, Walled Lake, MI 48390) postmarked by April 1, 2016. No refunds will be granted after April 1, 2016. All refund requests will be subject to a $75 processing fee. All refunds will be processed after the conference. Please allow 8 weeks for processing.


Credit card (VISA and MasterCard) payments are accepted online during the registration process. Please note: Checks or Purchase Orders cannot be accepted.


  • Data Projector and Screen. The AATSP will provide a data projector and screen in each conference meeting room where presentations take place; there is no cost to presenters for this equipment.
  • Computers. Each presenter is responsible for providing his/her own computer for the presentation.
  • Apple Computer Users. In order to connect an Apple computer to a data projector, users must bring the Mini Display Port to VGA Adapter to connect to a standard input. Adapters will not be provided or available at the conference.
  • Internet Access. The AATSP will provide complimentary internet access in each conference meeting room.
  • Some AV Equipment not available. The following equipment is not available for use during the conference: overhead projectors, slide projectors, CD or video players, computer speakers, cables, or adapters.
