Statement of Candidacy

I am honored to be a candidate for College/University Representative on the AATSP Executive Council, and I believe my own record reflects the many promising contributions I would make to the AATSP if elected. As my curriculum vitae indicates, I have not only held and currently hold numerous leadership roles across the profession, but within these same positions I have initiated and developed many programs and projects that have enhanced operations and provided numerous opportunities for the organizations’ respective constituents. In addition, I am very familiar with the work of sophisticated and accomplished councils such as the AATSP’s: I served on the Association of College Honor Societies’ Board from 2006-09 and on its Council since 2004, and I am currently a member of Sigma Delta Pi’s National Executive Committee since 1997. These experiences and my own record of initiative along with my ongoing contributions to the AATSP as founding chair of the Mario Vargas Llosa Award program demonstrate that, if elected, I would be an active and diligent contributor the AATSP’s Executive Council to assist with furthering the organization’s mission and ensuring that creative, beneficial ideas for the organization’s future are considered thoroughly and implemented successfully as deemed appropriate. With a history of shunning the status quo and tirelessly promoting the excellent ideas of colleagues, I look forward to contributing actively to this outstanding organization. Thank you for your kind and serious consideration.
