AATSP Editor of Hispania Search

Saturday, September 16, 2017

The American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP) seeks applications from qualified persons to serve as the next Editor of Hispania.

Hispania is the official journal of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP). The journal, which is published quarterly (March, June, September, and December), has a wide international and domestic readership online and in print. Hispania has received various recognitions and awards during the journal’s 100 years of publication. While its targeted audience is teachers of Spanish and Portuguese at all educational levels, the journal is widely recognized as the most comprehensive publication for the academic discussion of applied linguistics, cultural studies, culture, film, language, linguistics, literary criticism, literature, and pedagogy having to do with Spanish and Portuguese. The successful applicant will be a senior scholar in Spanish or Portuguese with high standards in research, writing, and publication. Editorial experience should include familiarity with online submission sites and the production process of a scholarly journal. Prior experience with publication in Hispania is desired. The Editor oversees a staff that includes the Managing Editor, Book/Media Review Editor, and Assistant Managing Editor as well as leading the Editorial Board of Associate Editors.
