Let Your Voice Be Heard!
In January 2019, The California Department of Education adopted new Standards for World Language (the first update in 10 years). These standard are organized similar to other content standards and ACTFL's Can-Do Statements.
.
Now a draft of the World Language Framework is available for public comment. This is your chance to be heard to help shape the profession in our state for the next 10+ years! Public comment is open until December 1 and then there will be another short comment period next Spring. The entire Framework is 600 pages, so even if you pick just one or two chapters to read, that would be great. Once you read them, there is a survey to fill out to send back to the Instructional Quality Commission for feedback so any final revisions can be made before adopted and sent to the CDE for final approval.
The draft Framework and feedback survey can be found here.
