2019 Conference on Second Languages and Cultures: Theory, Practice, and Instructional Strategies

We invite all participants in the 2019 AP Reading for the French, German, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish Language and Culture exams to submit proposals for poster presentations. We invite a broad range of topics that may include, but are not limited to, literature, linguistics, pedagogy, best practices in teaching, and cultural studies. The conference will take place in the Junior Ballrooms of the Duke Energy Center. Participation and attendance are free.

Presentations can be of the following types:

--Instructional Strategies/Best Practices
--Presentations related to innovative instructional techniques and/or strategies to enhance student learning and performance.
--Research related to teaching in any of the topic areas listed above or related areas with special consideration given to the AP Foreign Language and Culture course.

Research Papers
Research papers in any of the topic areas related to French, German, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish Language and Culture.

Case Studies
Case studies in any of the topic areas listed above, or related areas.

Poster sessions allow attendees to speak with the presenters on a one-on-one basis. The following supplies will be provided for presenters:
Tri-fold display board (48 x 36 inches)
Markers, tape
Rectangular table (24 inches x 6 feet)

Submitting your proposal:
Proposal abstracts must be submitted online: http://linguistlist.org/easyabs/AP_FL&C_2019
Abstracts are limited to a 100-word description of your proposed presentation.

Deadline for abstract submission: May 15th, 2019
Notification of acceptance: June 1st, 2019
