Description: In this workshop-style event, students will explore methods to integrate art and architecture into the L2 classroom in a communicative way. Through discussions and group work, the pedagogical bases for incorporating art into the L2 classroom will be the focal point of this workshop. Strategies for using art projects as a language assessment tool will be taken into account as participants design an activity that appropriately incorporates workshop material into the classroom.

Participants may elect to earn either 3 PDs or 3 graduate credits through World Language PD ( and its partnership with Northwest Nazarene University. Those who take the workshop for graduate credits are eligible to receive an official transcript with the graduate code, “ED WL” (Education of World Languages) at the 5000 (graduate) level from Northwest Nazarene University. To qualify, enrolled participants must follow up after the workshop and submit a reflection journal and teaching portfolio.

Open to educators of any World Language.

Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Heartland Community College in Normal, Illinois ● 9AM – 12PM in classroom ICB 2804 ● Breakfast provided; Certificate of Participation and 3 PDs OR 3 grad credits will be issued ● Please return your registration form (page 2) by April 26, 2018
