I am committed to the
philosophy and goals of AATSP. I am a passionate supporter of our teachers and
students. AATSP is the only national language organization that consistently
provides benefits directly to both, teachers and students.
It offers students an
avenue to showcase their work nationally, and provides travel and scholarship
opportunities. Teachers learn to be facilitators, leaders and masters of their
trade, through workshops, programs and grants.
I offer my professional
experience and skills as qualifications to be selected as the 9-12 High School
Representative to the AATSP Board.
I have fifteen years as an
active Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica sponsor. Proud of having had students win
The Long Term Activity Award, The Joseph Adams Senior Scholarship, and several
prose and poetry entries published in Albricias. In addition, my school’s SHH
chapter sponsors the National Spanish Exam.
I have four years as the
Regional I Director for SHH, responsible for the judging of the Bertie Green
Travel Award. I coordinated and ensured consistency in judging the student
entries nationally. Also, two years’ experience re-starting an inactive AATSP
chapter. My ability to organize, and lead has created a new AATSP Upstate New
York chapter that serves over 120 members.
