The 92nd Annual AATSP Conference was held July 10-13, 2010 in Guadalajara, Jalisco, México. It offered an excellent opportunity for professional development, networking and the exchange of cultural information.
More than 200 sessions, workshops and poster presentations covered a wide variety of topics including literature, technology, linguistics and curriculum. Our exhibit hall was a favorite gathering place to discover new products and services as well as meet colleagues. Other highlights included a performance by Mariachi San Francisco de Simón Casas and presentations by authors Gerardo Piña Rosales and Ignacio García May as well as authors and novelists from Guadalajara.
Many attendees enjoyed cultural excursions to the historical center of Guadalajara, Tlaquepaque, Tonalá, and Tequila.
It was a conference packed with activity and information for all levels of teaching.
Next year, our conference will be in Washington, DC, and promises to hold many opportunities for professional development, cultural experiences and special events with local embassies!
Mark your calendar now for July 6-9, 2011, and join us there!
AATSP member and conference attendee/presenter Zachary Jones highlighted many events from the conference and our host city Guadalajara on his blog, Actualidades.
