The 91st Annual AATSP conference was held July 9-12 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It offered an excellent opportunity for professional development, networking and the exchange of cultural information.
More than 200 sessions, workshops and poster presentations covered a wide variety of topics including literature, technology, linquistics and curriculum. Our exhibit hall was full, with exhibitors from publishing, study abroad, language learning systems, The Spanish Embassy, local artisan jewelry, and more.
Other highlights included sessions and performances by Justo Lamas, an inspirational concert performer, Uruguayan pianist Dalma Bottarini Gandolfo and featured authors Clara Sánchez and Margarita Robleda.
Excursions were offered on Friday and Sunday to enjoy the Best of Albuquerque, tour Santa Fe and visit Sandia Peak and a winery.
It was a conference packed with activity and information for all levels of teaching. Next year, our conference will be in Guadalajara, Mexico, and promises to hold as many opportunities for professional development, cultural experience and fun! Mark your calendar now for July 10-13, 2010, and join us there!
