The STARTALK 2012 proposal submission period began on October 3, 2011,
and will end on October 31, 2011. During this time, applicants may view
the invitation and instructions, as well as complete and submit a
proposal online. Please visit http://startalk.umd.edu/proposals to apply.
Funding is available for teacher professional development, student
programs, or programs that combine teacher professional development and
student programs.
The STARTALK website contains information on teaching and learning Arabic, Chinese, Dari,
Hindi, Persian, Portuguese, Russian, Swahili, Turkish, and Urdu. The
purpose of this website is to share information on implementing programs as
well as to share resources on curriculum design, instructional
materials, assessment tools, and useful links.
