Integrating Sustainability Topics in the Second Language Classroom

Participants in this summer institute will learn about the fundamentals of content based instruction in the second language classroom, as well as define sustainability and explore the reasons why the topic is important to teach as an interdisciplinary approach in second language classrooms. The focus on the institute will be on developing a knowledge base about sustainability through lectures, networking, workshops and field trips including one on Environment and Sustainability at Target Field and creating curriculum which can be used in classrooms. Both Science/ language educators from same school encouraged to attend together, but not required. (Discount offered for science educator attending with language educator; contact outreach coordinator for more information prior to registration.)
