Learn research-based strategies and develop practical tools for academic literacy instruction to use in Spanish in bilingual, immerson, and dual language education programs.

Please join us for this three-day Spanish Literacy Institute designed to provide participants with an understanding of effective methodologies for teaching academic language and literacy in Spanish to students in Grades K-8 at all levels of proficiency.

Featured presenters, Dr. Margarita Calderón, Dr. María N. Trejo, and Ms. Guadalupe Espino of Margarita Calderón and Associates, will share proven strategies and practical tools for providing instruction in Spanish.

CAL presenters, Dr. Julie Sugarman and Dr. Beatriz Arias, will outline how to develop effective bilingual immersion and dual language education programs and curricula to support the work of teachers who deliver instruction in Spanish.

The Spanish Literacy Institute is designed for bilingual teachers, specialists, and coordinators who provide support or instruction in the Spanish language in bilingual, heritage language, language immersion, or dual language settings.

Participants must be proficient in Spanish and have a working knowledge of English to fully participate in all aspects of the Institute.
