The AATSP is pleased to provide you with information about the 2010 FLES POSTER CONTEST.

  • The AATSP sponsors the FLES (Foreign Language in Elementary School) Poster Contest annually for students enrolled in Spanish or Portuguese in grades K-8. If your AATSP chapter does not already host a poster contest for elementary and middle school students, please consider offering the contest as a chapter activity.
  • The FLES Poster Contest provides the opportunity to discuss language learning with the younger learners. As a Spanish teacher of ten years, I know for my own students the brainstorming session for the poster idea offers the perfect chance to talk with the younger students about why they actually need to learn a second language.
  • The 2010 Poster Contest Theme is Estudia FLES en 2010: Amplia tus oportunidades / Estude FLES em 2010: Amplie as suas oportunidades.
  • Four files containing information to aid your chapter in participating in the FLES Poster Contest can be found on the FLES Poster Contest webpage: Entry Requirements, Guidelines for Developing Posters, Organizing an AATSP Chapter Poster Contest, and Student Information Form.

Please refer to the FLES Poster Contest webpage for this year's contest deadline and criteria.

If I can be of any assistance, please let me know. I look forward to your participation!
