ICTFL’s Second Annual WinterFest & WinterFLES 2016
“Stamp Your Passport with Proficiency” (based on Central States Extension Workshop)
Participants will earn five PDs. Lunch & coffee are included in the $85 Registration Fee.
This workshop is a MUST for all who are striving to have their students embark on their road to language proficiency. It doesn’t matter if your students are 6 or 16 or even 60, the stages of proficiency are the same, only your teaching presentation will be different. For this reason, after covering some general points common to all, the group will break into levels being taught to better address the needs of the different aged students.
What will this workshop provide? Information and hands-on experience to help create an Integrated Performance Assessment that mimes a real-life situation, motivates your students, and provides valuable feedback for your world language program. We will provide a basic review of all of the terms of an integrated assessment, analyze and provide samples of the essential components----the interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational assessments, and provide rubrics that you can use to evaluate your students in each area. Finally, we want to help you begin to write your own integrated assessment so start thinking of a unit exam that you would like to toss. Join us and be a change agent in your department!
