Going "Green":

Bringing Sustainability and Environmental Themes into the Language Classroom

July 13–17, 2015

Note: This institute is offered for a special early bird rate of $150 for a full week!

Target Audience: High school to postsecondary foreign language and ESL teachers.

Want to go “green” in your language classroom? This new summer institute will provide an overview of key environmental/sustainability issues and will explore the reasons why this interdisciplinary topic is an excellent fit with second language classes. After learning about the fundamentals of content-based instruction and Design Thinking for languages, participants will gain hands-on experience developing lessons on environmental themes using authentic materials.
