This is a pioneering event which offers an opportunity for professionals working in Immersion Education to come together to share ideas and inform their professional practice.

An event will take place every year. One year it will be a full conference with a call for papers inviting many national and international speakers. Then in the other year, a smaller 1 or 1 ½ day event that will follow more of a symposium format, without a call for papers.

This will give us an opportunity to expand our horizons on Immersion, International and Bilingual Education in Brazil on a yearly basis.

The event in 2015 will be a 2 day conference on September 6 and 7, 2015

There will be presentations in both English & Portuguese. Plenary sessions will be translated simultaneously

Call for Proposals deadline May 17, 2015:

We invite proposals in either English or Portuguese related to the theme of the conference, ‘Effective (Bi) Literacy Instruction for our Immersion Students’. The Conference Committee welcomes submissions addressing a broad variety of topics related to reading and writing, in addition to the conference theme.

All proposals will be classified according to their topic by the conference organiser. A panel of experienced reviewers will rank the proposals in a blind review process. Based on the number of time slots assigned to each topic by the conference organiser, the proposals with the highest ranking per topic will be accepted.
