CALL FOR PAPERS
The Ontario Chapter of the AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF TEACHERS OF SPANISH AND PORTUGUESE (AATSP-ON) invites you to participate in its annual conference, supported this year by the Department of Hispanic Studies, Glendon College (York University). This year’s theme will be "Valoración y protección de la enseñanza del español y portugués”. The conference will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the Glendon College campus.
For over 95 years, AATSP has promoted research and teaching in Spanish and Portuguese languages, Hispanic and Luso-Brazilian cultures and literatures, as well as the diffusion of other related languages, at all educational levels. The Ontario Chapter, the only one in Canada, organizes an annual conference for the exchange of ideas and experiences amongst Spanish and Portuguese language teachers.
All interested participants can submit a proposal for presentation on any topic pertaining to the fields of Culture and Society, Teaching Spanish or Portuguese as a Foreign Language, Linguistics, or Literature.
Proposals are limited to a maximum of 250 words, and must include a title, the presenter’s full name, and his/her institutional affiliation (see PROPOSAL FORM). Presentations may be in Spanish, Portuguese, English, or French.
Proposals must be submitted no later than September 16, 2012

. Decisions concerning proposals will be made within a month after submission.
This invitation is open to students and the general public. Those interested in presenting at the conference must be members of the AATSP in good standing. To become a member, visit http://www.aatsp.org.
Conference fees: All conference attendees are required to pay a fee of $25.00 (general public) or $15.00 (students). Presenters must forward their fees immediately after confirmation of acceptance, and no later than October 26, 2012.
Attendees can also send their fees in advance, or pay upon registration at the conference site. Please make your cheque or money order payable to AATSP-ON, and send it to the following address:
