Dear Colleagues:

I am in charge of Christianity and Literature’s session at the MLA January 5-8, 2012, in Seattle, and am seeking proposals for papers on any aspect of Christianity, especially in the literature from Latin America or from the Southern U.S., but indeed from any literature from the Global South. Acceptance on my panel, since it is from an allied organization of the MLA, will guarantee that your paper will be accepted by the MLA. You will be informed of my decision by the end of April.

You might want to write about a particular aspect of this topic. Your paper might be focused on Christ, the Virgin Mary, the Saints (even a particular saint), the Bible, the mixture of the sacred and the profane, priests, nuns, Christianity vs indigenous religions, etc.

If you are not interested in presenting a paper on this topic, please be so kind as to forward this message on to colleagues you know who might be interested. The deadline is very soon: March 15, 2011.
