The AATSP Outstanding Scholarly Publication Award is given annually to an article published in Hispania. A $500 honorarium accompanies this award.

ELIGIBILITY

1. All articles considered for nomination must be published in the two calendar years prior to the year of the actual award (e.g. articles eligible for the 2013 award are those published between January 1, 2011 and December 31, 2012).

2. Only articles published in Hispania are eligible.

3. The focus of the award alternates on an annual basis. The focus for all odd-numbered years is literature, film, and culture while the focus for even-numbered years is linguistics and language science/pedagogy. Thus, the focus for 2013 is literature, film, and culture and the focus for 2014 will be linguistics and language science/pedagogy.

4. All nominated authors must be AATSP members in good standing at the time of publication of the article and nomination for the award.

5. Publications from Hispania Editors, Hispania Associate Editors, and AATSP Executive Council Members are ineligible.

NOMINATIONS

1. Nominations, including self-nominated articles, may be submitted by any AATSP member in good standing.

2. Nominations must include the following items:

a. Complete Awards Application Form (DOC)
b. A current curriculum vitae or resume
c. A letter of nomination explaining why the article should receive the AATSP Outstanding Scholarly Publication Award
d. Name(s) of the author(s) of the article along with complete contact information for the author(s)
e. Complete bibliographic citation for the nominated article along with one of the following: (1) information on how to access the article online; OR (2) a digital version of the article sent as an email attachment

3. All nominations must be submitted in electronic format and sent via e-mail. E-mail all materials to:

AWARD PRESENTATION

• The AATSP Outstanding Scholarly Publication Award will be presented at the Awards Banquet to be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2013, during the AATSP Conference in San Antonio, Texas.
• The winner(s) of the AATSP Outstanding Scholarly Publication Award are expected to be in attendance at the banquet to accept the award.
